To ensure you make the most of your travel experiences, we've compiled a list of our must-have items that make every photography adventure smoother and more enjoyable. From capturing stunning footage to staying comfortable on the go, these essentials have you covered.

First on our list is a good quality camera. Our go to is the Panasonic Lumix S5. Comfortable Footwear
One thing you won't want to forget when packing is a pair of comfortable shoes. Whether you're exploring a city or hiking a mountain, having the right footwear is essential for enjoying your adventures without discomfort. Our personal choice is the Danner 600 evo.
Portable Charger
Never run out of battery again with a high-capacity portable charger. This is essential for keeping your devices powered up, especially when you're on the move all day. Opt for a lightweight model with multiple USB ports to charge several devices at once. Our favourite is the anker powercore 26800 portable charger. With enough juice to keep our laptop, camera and phone charged comfortably, it's easy to see why we love ours!
Reusable Water Bottle
Stay hydrated and eco-friendly with a reusable water bottle. Look for one that's insulated to keep your drinks cool or warm for hours. Some models also come with built-in filters, which are great for ensuring you have clean drinking water wherever you go. We use a Chilly's Water Bottle when we're out on a trip but there are plenty of good bottles out there.
High Quality Camera Lenses
The Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 is often sold as a kit lens with the Lumix S5, so you may well have this lens already. If not, and you’re currently weighing up whether to invest in the Lumix S range and what kit lens to get, this is a terrific buy. It doesn’t have the constant f/2.8 maximum aperture of the professional Lumix S PRO 24-70mm f/2.8, but it does have a unique, wider focal range that could mean you don’t need to carry around, or even own, an ultra-wide zoom lens. The image quality is very good, considering that this lens does not add a lot to the cost of the camera kit, and as well as being pretty light and portable for a full frame zoom, this lens is also weather-sealed.
Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Drown out the noise of planes, trains, and busy streets with soundcore by Anker Q20i Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling headphones. They enhance your travel experience by allowing you to relax, sleep, or enjoy your music and podcasts without distractions. We'd be lost without ours a lot of the time.
Good Quality Bluetooth Shutter Remote
A good quality Bluetooth shutter remote is a small but mighty tool for any traveller. The PIXEL TW-283 L1 Wireless Shutter Release allows you to take photos from a distance without having to set a timer or rush into position. Perfect for group shots or solo travellers who want to be in their own photos.
Good Quality Lightweight Tripod
Again, quality is important here. If you're anything like us your tripod will need to endure fast flowing streams, knee deep snow and fairly strong winds. The last thing you want is your nice camera or smartphone going for a swim or blowing of a hill top. A good, lightweight tripod is essential for capturing stunning landscapes, night shots, or time-lapse videos. It provides stability for your camera, ensuring sharp, clear images. Look for a model that is easy to carry and set up. We find the NEEWER LITETRIP LT32 62" Carbon Fiber travel tripod is about the best we've used but perhaps in the price range of the more serious photographer.
